BYD, a global leader in new energy vehicles (NEVs) and power batteries, celebrated a landmark moment during its 30th anniversary with the roll-off of its 10-millionth NEV at the Xiaomo Production Base in the Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone. This milestone solidifies BYD's position as a leader in the global automotive industry.
At the event, BYD’s Chairman and President, Mr. Wang Chuanfu, reflected on the company’s extraordinary evolution from a modest startup with 20 employees to a multinational powerhouse with nearly one million staff worldwide. In his keynote address, Mr. Wang underscored BYD’s commitment to innovation and its pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable mobility.
BYD is the first automaker globally to achieve this remarkable production milestone. Notably, it took 15 years to manufacture its first 5 million NEVs, while the next 5 million were produced in just 15 months—a testament to the company’s strategic focus and technological advancements.
The milestone 10-millionth vehicle, a Denza Z9, was ceremonially handed over to Mr. Feng Ji, Founder and CEO of Game Science and the creative mind behind the acclaimed game Black Myth: Wukong.
Mr. Wang attributed BYD’s success to its visionary leadership and a deeply ingrained engineering culture. He emphasized the company’s strong technological foundation as a key driver of its achievements.
Looking forward, BYD plans to invest 100 billion yuan in developing intelligent technologies that integrate artificial intelligence with automotive systems, advancing its entire vehicle lineup for the future of mobility.
